Het Vladivostok van 1985 is duidelijk te grauw en grijs voor de jonge Vasili, die onredelijk opgewonden raakt van films met Jean-Claude van Damme. Zijn moeder, al evenmin gelukkig, ziet maar ÊÊn uitweg: zich opgeven als postorderbruid.
